Meet the incredible Columia Edgewater staff who make every game possible.
Bryan has been with Columbia Edgewater since 1999, joining the club as Head Professional and moving to Director of Golf in 2011.
Bryan graduated with honors from the University of Oregon in 1992, and has been a PGA Class A member since 1995. He played in the National PGA Club Professional Championships in 2002, 2004, and 2017. Bryan also was Pacific Northwest Section PGA Golf Professional of the Year in 2015 and 2021, and Oregon Chapter PGA Golf Professional of the Year in 2005, 2006, 2015, and 2021. As a golf mentor, Bryan was a Pacific Northwest Section PGA Bill Strausbaugh Award Winner in 2010. He was also the PNWPGA President and board member from 2006-2018, and again in 2021.
Jim brings experiences from an illustrious career preparing courses throughout the western United States and Pacific Northwest. With a degree in Horticulture from Big Rapids Michigan as well as a Turf Management degree from the University of Georgia, Jim has a deep understanding of what makes grass healthy.
He served as superintendent at The Plateau Club in Seattle and at Vail Golf Club in Vail Colorado, where he prepared the golf course for two US Presidents to play a round together. Jim hosted former President Ford’s Jerry Ford Golf Invitational, as well as the Cambia Portland LPGA Classic, twice. He was past President of Western Washington Golf Course Superintendents Association and a Committee Member for several committees with Golf Course Superintendents Association of America. Jim has been Chapter Delegate for the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America and Served on the Northwest Turfgrass Association Board of Directors.
An Oregon native, Adrian was an Assistant Golf Professional at Columbia Edgewater for 12 years, rejoining the club as Head Golf Professional in 2017.
As a collegiate athlete at the University of Oregon, graduating in 1999, Adrian captured two victories during his senior year and earned 2nd team All-PAC10 golf honors. In 2007 he received his PGA membership and was honored as the OR PGA Assistant Professional of the Year. During his first 12-year stint as Assistant Professional at Columbia Edgewater, he participated on the 2008 Hudson Cup team, the 2010 PGA Professional National Championship, and captured two PNWPGA Pro-Assistant championships. Following his first tenure at Columbia Edgewater, he became the Director of Golf at Concordia University, leading both men’s and women’s programs during their transition from NAIA to NCAA D2 status. Adrian returned to the Columbia Edgewater team in 2017 as the Head Golf Professional.
Kalle has gained a wealth of operational and marketing excellence from clubs in both the United States and Mexico. He was most recently was the Golf Club Director at El Rio Country Club in Guadalajara, Mexico, overseeing the entire operation of a Jack Nicklaus signature private golf club.
Prior to that role, he gained 10 years of experience as an Operations Director with Ochoa Sports Management, including co-founding the Lorena Ochoa Golf Academy in Mexico and bringing the first LPGA tournament to Mexico—the Corona Morelia Championship. Kalle was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and spent his youth in Stockholm, Sweden. He is fluent in four languages—English, Spanish, German, and Swedish—and is passionate about golf, raising his family, all sports, and working out. He has a degree in Business Management and a master’s degree in Sport’s Psychology and holds an ISSA certification for Personal Trainer and Fitness Nutrition.
Tom has spent a career in high-profile culinary operations, including managing some of Portland’s best restaurants. He has lived in Portland for over 20 years and gained an intimate understanding of what makes Portland, and the Pacific Northwest, among the best culinary regions in the world.
A San Diego State University alumni, Tom’s first job in restaurant management was Captain at world famous Spago Restaurant in Los Angeles, the flagship restaurant of Chef Wolfgang Puck, where he organized private event catering for high-profile clientele. A move north landed Tom as the Dining Room Manager at La Mirabelle, in Portland, where he learned the valuable skill of coordinating all activity between the kitchen and the dining room as well as managing a substantial wine inventory. From there, Tom became General Manager at Higgins Restaurant, where for 14 years he led the operations of the restaurant. In 2010, Tom had the opportunity to lead the Oregon Culinary Institute as the Program Director and then as the Director of Education. At the OCI, Tom oversaw an operation that trained hundreds and hundreds of chefs and hospitality management professionals and he coordinated the entire operation of the Institute until its closure.
Tara's passion for golf started as a caddie. While playing collegiate golf at Methodist University, she pursued a degree in Business Administration and Professional Golf Management, graduating as a Class A PGA Professional in 2009.
Golf has taken Tara across the country working in top 100 resorts and private clubs while gathering experiences in merchandising, tournament operations, and teaching individual and group lessons. During this time, she realized her passion lay in making the game more enjoyable for everyone. Her personal journey as a student, player, and manager are reflected in her teaching philosophy. She believes the best way to improve the game is to have fun while doing it, and that a good attitude is as important as a good swing. She endeavors to make every lesson fun, engaging, and relaxed while providing personalized solutions to help reach every individual’s goals.
Simone graduated from Oregon State University in 2017 with a bachelors in Merchandising Management. Go Beavs! She has always had a passion for fashion, consumer buying behavior, and how apparel affects performance. She grew up playing soccer and lacrosse, but was not introduced to golf until marrying into a family of avid golfers.
